Booking HPRU resources to borrow

What can I borrow?

We have a variety of resources, which cover a broad range of health promotion issues. These include:

  • drugs
  • alcohol
  • smoking
  • heart health
  • physical activity
  • nutrition
  • cancers
  • environmental health
  • accident prevention
  • immunisation
  • parenting
  • mental wellbeing
  • generic health education
  • sexual health
  • contraception
  • sexually transmitted infections
  • HIV
  • specific conditions
  • presentation aids

How do I book resources?

Choose your resources by browsing our HPRU Online Catalogue (coming soon) or by leafing through our printed Resources Catalogues, which are located at the HPRU at Booth Meadow House and at our Collection and Information Points around the county.

You can then either fill in the Resource Booking Form and post it to us, or make your booking by contacting the HPRU team to check availability of the resources you require.

Collect your booked resources either from the HPRU at Booth Meadow House (appointment required) or opt to have your order sent to any of our Collection and Information Points. Your expected collection date will be given to you when you make the booking.

What are the timescales for booking and collection?

By booking well in advance you can reserve resources for your event, so you’ll be able to plan your events knowing which items you will be using on the day.

We recommend that you book at least a week in advance to ensure there is time to get your order delivered to you chosen Collection and Information Point.

Please note that delivery schedules are subject to change therefore the most reliable way of receiving your resources is to collect from the HPRU.

How long can I keep resources?

Once you've become a member of the HPRU, you can book out up to 10 resources for up to 2 weeks at a time. If you find you need to them longer, just let us know. If possible, we'll extend your booking up to 3 times (depending on availability).
